Flying Colors Painting Co., like just about everything else I do, is a direct expression of my values. How we do the job, the materials we use, the way we communicate, the way we treat your space, and the way we treat you and your family are all informed by the idea that this is all about relationship.
Now, my painters and my wife know I could write an essay on what that means to me (and if you’re interested in my thoughts, you can ask me in person), but I’ll just say that the paint job matters because you matter; communication matters because you matter; profit matters because my employees and my family matter. To me, that’s the bottom line.
Expect to be treated like a person. When you contact us for an estimate, I respond personally and promptly to hear about your project and set up an appointment. You receive an e-mail and a phone call to confirm that appointment. In most cases, I’m able to get you a proposal the same day so you’re not left wondering. Once we’ve agreed on the proposal, I regularly communicate with you on how close we are to starting your project. When we get close enough, I call to schedule a specific start date and to make sure we have all the colors and materials we need.
Again, communication is the priority. On the first day, the crew calls when they’re on the way. Once introductions have been made, we get oriented to make sure everyone agrees on what you’ve asked for, to give you a chance to tell us about any special concerns, and make sure the colors we have are the colors you want. Every day after that, we communicate with you on our goals, our progress, and our projected completion date. All throughout, the crew leader or I are available to hear any questions you may have. After the paint is on, I will call to schedule a final walk through with you. At that time, I’ll give you the invoice.
We take pride in the craftsmanship we put into your project. Though we have a 1-year warranty on exterior work—because, if workmanship is a problem, it will show within the first cycle of the seasons—we want you to feel free to contact us after any period of time if you see any issues or have any questions. For interior work, again, if workmanship is an issue at any time, let us know. Please ask about our Life-time Touch-up program, too.
We believe your house is your sanctuary. We want you to love driving up to it, the colors and the lines inviting you home. We also want you to feel comfortable sitting inside, secure in the knowledge that wind and rain, nor beating sun will find a way to damage the siding or structure. To this end, we take great care in the preparation of your home so that the quality coating we apply lasts in beauty and protection.
The inside of your home is where so much of life happens. Work, school, play, parties, thrilling moments, quiet moments, and much more. It’s the place you invite people into, and it speaks to who you are. Your space is where hospitality happens. We bring that with us when we paint. We respect this space, and our processes honor its purpose.
It’s been said that the kitchen is the heart of your home. Often, guests spend more time visiting in the kitchen than in the living room. The work that we do for kitchen cabinets is designed with that truth, and those people, in mind. Every night, during the period we’re working, your kitchen is available for use. And the final product is one that will be able to host those special times for years to come.
